FDU Knights Athletics

Led by Head Coach Terry Terhune, the 1960 Women's Fencing Team posted a perfect 13-0 record and captured the program's first-ever National Championship at Elmira College after not qualifying for the tournament the previous year.

Current Hall of Famer Madeline Miyamoto also captured the program's second individual National Championship in the foil as a freshman that year.

Members of the 1960 team were: Carol Kuzen (2001 Hall of Fame), Madeline Miyamoto (2000 Hall of Fame), Marcia Mosley, Virginia O'Reilly, Jeanette Reid, Florence Peirano and Harriet Winters.
