The all-time winningest coach in program history, Dennis Sasso piled up 340 career victories during his 19-year tenure at the helm of the Knights’ baseball program. He guided his teams to three consecutive conference championships from 1986-88 and back-to-back ECAC Tournament appearances in 1987 and 1988. In 1993, his team set a new program record with 28 wins, capturing a NEC regular season title. The Knights followed up with 26 wins in 1994, sharing another NEC regular season crown. Sasso’s teams went on to win another NEC regular season title in 1997 and a north division championship in 1999. He was a three-time NEC Coach of the Year, earning the award in 1988, 1993 and 1996, while also being named New Jersey Coach of the Year in 1988. A life-time educator and motivator, Sasso sent over 20 players into professional baseball careers and hundreds into the business world.
