Richard Ouma competed in four NCAA Championships across his career at Fairleigh Dickinson. The 1981 IC4A Champion enjoyed tremendous success for the Burgundy and Blue and owns five school records.

Ouma was a key member of the 1980 team, which placed sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships by earning 22 points. Ouma’s 1:46.56 outdoor 800-meter time in 1980 and 1:48.55 800-meter indoor performance in 1981 still stand as FDU records today.

The Kenya native followed his freshman season by capturing the 1981 800-meter indoor (1:48.55) and outdoor (1:48.38) IC4A titles. He also helped the Knights clock a winning time of 3:06.19 in the 1,600-meter relay. In addition to his individual 800-meter records, Ouma holds FDU benchmarks in the outdoor 4x400 relay (3:06.19) and both the indoor 4x400 (3:09.00) and 4x800 (7:28.37) races.
