An inaugural member of Fairleigh Dickinson University's Division I Athletics Hall of Fame, Harvey Woods was FDU's first-ever Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, establishing what remains a successful Division I athletics program. Wood served FDU for 29 years, leading the athletics department at the Teanack/Hackensack campus as well as the Madison and Rutherford campuses. He was responsible for raising a three-sport department to one with 15 intercollegiate athletics teams and a 19-sport intramural department. While leading the athletics department, Woods also served as the Head Baseball Coach. At the time of his induction, he stands second all-time on the Knights' coaching list with 226 victories, winning 58 percent of his games and leading FDU to 15 winning seasons.
