John Pietrowitz (1983-86) is one of the most accomplished players to come through the baseball program. He graduated as the program's all-time hit leader with 166, which currently ranks 10th all time, and ranked fourth all-time with a .339 batting average after graduation, which is also ranks 10th. Pietrowitz constructed a magical senior season in 1986 that saw him finish with a .414 batting average, 46 runs and 51 RBI, as he graduated with the seventh-best single-season average, the third-most runs and second-most RBI in single-season history. He now ranks tied for 11th in average, tied for fifth in runs and tied for fourth in RBI. Pietrowitz was also named to the hot corner of the 1980's All-Decade Team.
