Before joining the Knights, Mark Rakauskas was an All-State performer at East Hartford High School. He was one of only 90 freshmen to receive a FDU Presidential Scholarship and led the Knights to the NCAA Tournament. He received a First Team all-NEC selection in 1989 and earned All NEC accolades, finishing 4th in the NEC with 1.54 goals against average, while appearing in 19 games and recording 80 saves.

Player Statistics:

Rakauskas helped the Knights to a 30-22 overall record in three years as a starter. He finished his career with a 1.32 goals against average and graduated ranking 3rd all-time in career saves with 14. During his sophomore season in 1988, he ranked 4th among Northeast Conference keepers with 1.34 goals against average while appearing in 10 games and recording 54 saves. At the NCAA's he recorded 11 saves in a 1-0 first  round victor over Penn State posting 11 saves again in a 1-0 loss to Virginia in the second round. Rakauskas led the league with a 1.11 goals again average, recording 93 saves in 18 appearances.
