Hall of Fame Induction Speech - 1/31/20

Dr. Kiernan served as Provost of the Metropolitan Campus and as Associate Professor of Economics and Finance in the Silberman College of Business. Kiernan became Provost of the Metropolitan Campus in 2003 following service as Assistant Campus Provost from 2000 to 2002 and Associate Campus Provost from 2002 to 2003.  
 
Throughout his time at FDU, Dr. Kiernan made significant contributions to athletics including the addition of the softball, women's bowling, women's soccer, and women's golf programs. His contributions to the improvement of facilities include upgrades to the Rothman Center, the construction of the FDU softball facility, an all-weather turf playing surface at baseball and soccer. On the staffing side, Kiernan helped usher in positions for full-time assistant coaches and upgrading staff and finding support for the academic services program. Kiernan, who remained in his role as Metropolitan Campus Provost until 2016, also served as two-time co-chair of the NCAA certification process.
