    Tennis Coach

Ira Miller coached the Knights' tennis teams from 1985-88 and again from 1994-98, guiding them to five Northeast Conference Championships, including three straight men's titles from 1996-98 to go along with an ECAC Southern Open Championship in 1996. He was named NEC Coach of the Year three times, earning the honor with the men in 1996, and with the women in 1995 and 1997.

A strong supporter of academic excellence, Miller produced five ITA Scholar-Athletes while at Fairleigh Dickinson and he was the only Division I coach in the country to have both his men's and women's squads earn ITA All-Academic Team honors. His men's team won the FDU Director's Award, given to the team with the highest GPA, for four consecutive years during his second tenure and the women's team was a co-winner in 1997.

During his career he coached 10 NEC men's singles champions, four men's doubles champions and two women's singles champions. Since leaving Fairleigh Dickinson he has coached the 1999 U.S. Junior Team for the Pan American Maccabi Games and in 2001 he was the U.S. Open Coach for the World Maccabi Games.
