An inaugural member of Fairleigh Dickinson University's Division I Athletics Hall of Fame, Dr. Harriet McCormick was the long-time women's athletics director who organized and directed the Women's Recreation Association. McCormick led FDU's women's athletics through the 1960s after beginning the WRA as an opportunity for women to take an active part in the life of the University. McCormick's role in the foundations of FDU Athletics is reflected in the annual Outstanding Female Athlete Award, which bears her name.
