Led by head coach and 2001 Hall of Fame inductee, Russ Robinson, the 1989 Fairleigh Dickinson women’s volleyball team posted a school-record 40-13 overall record en route to an NEC Championship.
Over the course of the season, the Knights posted a perfect 6-0 NEC record, including a 14-1 mark in individual sets. After winning the championship, the Knights earned a bid to the National Invitation Volleyball Tournament. Current Fairleigh Dickinson Associate Athletic Director, Stacey Recanati was named NEC Tournament MVP, while Cathy Pierre-Louis, Julia Brito and Barb Esposito earned All-Tournament Team recognition. Pierre-Louis and Recanati’s outstanding careers resulted in FDU Hall of Fame inductions in 2002 and 2000, respectively.
