A member of the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team from 1963 to 1965, Dennis O'Brien helped the Knights post a 35-27-1 mark, recording three straight winning seasons under legendary coach and inaugural Hall of Fame inductee Harvey Woods.

During his freshman year, O'Brien quickly made a name for himself, tossing back-to-back no-hitters in the same week. After shutting down Hofstra, 5-0, for his first no-no, O'Brien repeated the feat in another, 5-0, no-hit win over Brandeis. For his accomplishment, he was featured in Sports Illustrated's famous "Faces in the Crowd."

O'Brien went on to post a 4-2 record that year, striking out 60 batters and recording a school record 1.02 earned run average, a mark that still stands today. O'Brien finished his career with 10 wins in those three years.
