Daniel Rosen directed the Knights for three years as the point guard and represented Fairleigh Dickinson on numerous all-star teams. After leading the freshman team in scoring, assists and steals to earn Most Valuable Player honors, he moved up to the varsity squad as a sophomore and led the 1963-64 team with a .500 field goal percentage and averaged 9.6 points per game.

As a junior he was selected to the NJ Basketball Writers Association University All Star Basketball First Team and to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association All Star Second Team. He led the team in assists and steals, was second in scoring and was voted the University's Most Outstanding Basketball Player.

In his senior year he was named Captain, voted MVP of the Delaware Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament and named to the All Star Team. Rosen was also selected to the NJ Basketball Writers Association First Team, to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association First Team, and to the Tri-State League All-Star Second Team. He led the team in scoring (16.2 ppg) and established school records for most assists in one season (139) and in one game (12) and most steals in a season (125) and in one game (10). Rosen was voted the University's Top Male Athlete and received the Most Outstanding Basketball Player Award for the 1965-66 season and finished 2nd in voting for the Top University Senior Basketball Player in State of New Jersey.

As of 2003 he still holds the season (125) and career (271) records for steals.
