An inaugural member of Fairleigh Dickinson University's Division I Athletics Hall of Fame, Dick Holub was FDU's first and longest tenured men's basketball coach. In his 18 seasons coaching the Knights, Holub posted 13 winning seasons, recording the school's second-best career wins total of 233. Holub led the Knight to the school's first 20-win season in 1951-52 when FDU finished 22-4. The following year the Holub-led Knights posted the school's second 20-win season, winning 20-straight regular season games before losing in the NAIA playoffs and finishing 20-1. Holub recruited and coached many of FDU's all-time greats, including fellow Hall of Fame inductee, George Glasgow '53.
