Oliver Alves is one of the most decorated track and field athletes ever to don the Burgundy & Blue.

Alves was an IC4A Champion and an NCAA Championships participant his time with the Knights. In 1980, Alves helped lead the team to a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championship by earning 22 points. Individually, Alves finished fifth at the 1980 NCAA Championships in the 600-meter event. In 1982, Alves’ performance spearheaded the charge for the Knights’ 1982 IC4A Championship title.

His name remains in the FDU record books today as a record holder in both the 4x400 Relay (3:09.00) and the distance medley relay (9:40.5).
