An inaugural member of Fairleigh Dickinson University's Division I Athletics Hall of Fame, Marcus Gaither, Class of '84, set the standard for the great men's basketball players of the late 1980's.  Gaither's dedication to the Knights' program laid the groundwork for the Northeast Conference Championships and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament appearances which went with those championships in 1985 and 1988.  Gaither finished his four-year career at FDU in 1984 by setting a new school record as FDU's all-time leading scorer with 1,815 points, a mark which stood for seven years. At the time of his induction, Gaither ranked second all-time with his 1,815 points, is fifth with 465 field goals made and third with 369 assists.  He led the Knights in scoring for three consecutive years (1981-84) and posted a career-high 22.9 points per game in the 1982-'83 season.
