Bob Droste was a staple at first base for the Knights from 1972-75, where he started every game. His numbers speak for themselves, as he compiled a career .339 batting average, 168 hits, 25 doubles and 96 RBI. In his final season, Droste batted .422 (seventh in the nation), then the highest mark in school history. His senior year was complemented by 57 hits and 90 total bases, which were school records at the time. Droste earned First Team All-American District 2 Honors as a senior.
