Gregory Foster is one of only two players in program history to record 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. He finished his career as the Knights' all-time leading rebounder with 1,194, a record that still stands today. Foster also finished fourth in scoring with 1,276 career points, a mark that currently ranks 10th all-time and ranks ninth all-time with 239 assists.

One of the most efficient shooters of his time, he led the team in field goal percentage in 1981-82 (.641) and again in 1983-84 (.657). Foster also led the Knights in rebounding in 1980-81 (8.6 per game), 1982-83 (11.2 per game) and 1983-84 (9.8 per game).

His 318 boards in 1982-83 ranks as the fourth-highest single season total in program history as he averaged a double-double that year. Foster helped his team to three straight conference tournament appearances while earning All-Conference honors in 1983 and 1984.
