Kenneth T. Vehrkens joins the Hall of Fame as a University administrator. He currently serves as the Academic Dean of Petrocelli College for the University and has served the athletic department in many capacities. Vehrkens successfully served as chair of the NCAA Certification Committee on two separate occasions and has been an advocate for student-athletes during his tenure at FDU. He has served on the search committee for many outstanding FDU employees, including Stan Wright, Roy Danforth, Steve Hurlbut, Tom Green and David Langford. Vehrkens was instrumental in the creation of the New York Giants Degree Completion Program, which became the model for the entire NFL. He continues to represent FDU as the consultant to the NFL Degree Completion program, which works with the NFL Player Development Department to encourage current and former professional football players to complete their degrees. Vehrkens also chaired the Rothman Center advisory committee from 1986-88 and created the Bachelor and Master programs in Sports Administration.
