Men's soccer record holder and three-time All-American Michael King '86 is FDU's only team-sport to earn multiple All-American accolades. King holds six FDU records and is the career leader in goals scored and points scored. King led the Knights to three-straight NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament appearances in his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. As a freshman in 1982, King scored a school-record 31 goals, which ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA's record books, and helped the Knights to a 14-5-2 overall record. He notched 23 goals as a sophomore as FDU posted a 21-3 record and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. That year, the Knights achieved a final national ranking of #6. In 1984, King's junior year, the Knights achieved a final ranking of #3 in the nation behind his team-leading 52 points and a record of 19-2-3.
