FDU Hall of Fame
A 2012 graduate of FDU, Mariyah Laury was a dominant force on the hardwood as a member of the Knights women's basketball team. The Orange, N.J. native started 24 of 30 games played her freshman season in 2008-09 and led the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game (which was fourth best in the nation for all freshmen). Laury was a named a member of the All-NEC Rookie Team, scoring in double-figures in 23 games. The only Knight to start all 29 contests her sophomore season, Laury dropped 510 points. The NEC Second Teamer finished fifth on the Knights' single-season points list and second in the NEC, while averaging 17.6 points per game. In her junior season, the 5'7 guard was named to the First Team All-NEC and averaged 15.6 points per game, second in the NEC behind only the NEC Player of the Year. She was one of the top 10 shooters in the conference, ranking eighth in field-goal percentage, fourth in free-throw percentage and fourth in three-point field-goal percentage. In her junior season, Laury played in all 30 games with 26 starts and a team-leading 928 minutes. To close out a stellar intercollegiate career in the Burgundy and Blue, Laury was named to the First Team All-NEC in 2011-12 and scored a season-high 42 points at Monmouth. She averaged 17.3 points per game that season. Laury finished with a total of 1,920 career points - good for the second on the program's all-time scoring list.
