BRIDGEWATER, NJ.- Graduate student Tatijana Fucka was named the NEC/Molten Women's Volleyball Player of the Week and freshman Avery Bain was named NEC/Molten Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.
Fucka, reigning from Bologna, Italy, collected this honor on October 10th after a spectacular performance the last time the Knights met the Sharks when she smashed 18 kills on a stellar .500 hitting percentage and five blocks in FDU's four-set win.
This time around she had 15 kills with an impressive .667 hitting percentage and added four blocks for her second highest kills in a match this season. Fucka had the second highest number of kills and the highest hitting percentage among all NEC players this weekend. Fucka is leading the conference in hitting percentage (.366) and is fifth in blocks (78).
Bain had in impressive performance with a season best of 13 kills, a .233 hitting percentage and posted a block and four digs to claim the NEC/Molten Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.
Fucka, Bain and the rest of FDU are back in action this Friday at Stonehill for a 5pm start time in Merkert Gymnasium. The Knights then head to Merrimack for a 4 p.m. match at Hammel Court. Fans can catch the action on NEC Front Row at 5 p.m.
