CHICAGO, ILL. — In the Windy City, FDU women's volleyball (13-8, 7-1) got their revenge over the reigning NEC Champions Chicago State (0-17, 0-7) Friday evening (25-13, 25-18, 24-26, 25-21).
Tonight's victory marked a sixth-straight conference win for the Knights. FDU was led by the Italian duo of Giorgia Vaschetti, who had 12 kills and 12 digs, hitting .429 on the night, and Angela Marchetto, who had 5 kills and 6 blocks, hitting 1.000.
Set 1:
It was all FDU. The Knights' attackers were firing on all cylinders with 2 to 3 kills a piece. Holding down the backrow, freshman Kayla Green had 7 digs, helping FDU take the set 25-13.
Set 2:
Chicago State held the lead for a majority of the set, but Nihal Kocakara fired up the Knights with two major kills and a solo block. FDU would not stop there, going on a 7-0 run to finish the set 25-18.
Set 3:
The Knights struggled to get their offense going, trailing for the entire set. While FDU would fight off four set points, the Cougars secured the set 26-24.
Set 4:
Immediately, the Knights were rolling with a 5-0 run. FDU maintained the five point lead throughout the majority of the set. Chicago State made a late stride, but the Knights kept the composure and finished the match 25-21.

The Knights return to Jacoby Dickens Center tomorrow October 18 to take on the Cougars at 1 p.m.
