HOLMDEL, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's cross country team took fourth place at the Monmouth Invitational at Holmdel Park. The Knights competed against the home Monmouth squad, as well as teams from Rider, Rutgers, and Wagner in the field of 47 runners.

The Knights were paced by a 10th-place finish by senior Keyana Hynds (Bronx, N.Y./A. Philip Randolph), who posted a new personal record time of 19:51.73 over the five-kilometer course. This tops Hynds' previous career best of 19:59.43, which she set earlier this season at the Fordham Fiasco.

Sophomore Kristy Bono (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) was the next to cross the finish line for the Knights, finishing with a time of 20:01.61, cutting more than 25 seconds off her time from the Fordham Fiasco. Bono's twin Jamie Bono (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) finished third on the team with a time of 21:05.29.

Less than a minute later, senior Annemarie Pantke (Bremen, Germany/St. Johannis-Schule) completed the course with a 21:45.35 finish.

The final four FDU runners were bunched together and all finished within a span of five runners late in the race. Sophomore Mildred Sam-Otuh (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) was the first across the finish line, with a time of 22:46.16, followed by sophomore Kenesha Brown (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) (22:53.89), freshman Omawattie Singh (Queens, N.Y./Boys and Girls) (22:58.99), and freshman Jhanee Sterrett (Queens, N.Y./Boys and Girls ) (23:13.35).

The Knights return to action on Saturday Sept. 28 when they head to Loretto, Pa to compete at the Father Bede Invitational.
