Country competed in the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State Saturday.
FDU's men's team placed eighth, above NEC opponents LIU and Saint Francis. The Knights were led by junior
Luis Abreu, who continues a strong 2024 campaign. Abreu finished with a time of 27:20 in the 8k, good for 41
st in the field. Abreu was followed closely by freshman standout
Kidus Zeleke who finished in 43
rd. Zeleke posted a time of 27:31 to continue what has been a stellar start to his collegiate career.
The Knights' women also saw a strong performance from a freshman, as they were led by
Isabel Michel, who posted a time of 19:59 in the 5k, good for 70
th. Michel has been on fire to start her Knights career, leading the team in each of their three meets so far.
The squad will both turn their attention to October 5
th where they will compete in their next meet, the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, PA.
