Hynds' 15th-Place Finish Paces WXC at NEC Championships

LORETTO, Pa. -- Senior Keyana Hynds (Bronx, N.Y./A. Philip Randolph) led the Fairleigh Dickinson women's cross country team Saturday at the Northeast Conference Championships, which were held at Immergrun Golf Gourse. Hynds finished in 15th place out of 71 runners after completing the 5K (3.1 miles) course in 20:23 and narrowling missed making the 14-member All-NEC Team by one spot.

Sacred Heart won the championship, while the Knights finished in eighth place.

Sophomore Kristy Bono (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) finished in the top half with a time of 21:13 for a 32nd-place finish. Twin sister Jamie Bono (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) crossed the finish line twenty seconds later in 21:33.

Sophomore Mildred Sam-Otuh (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) was the next FDU runner to finish, as she recorded a time of 22:29. Senior Annemarie Pantke (Bremen, Germany/St. Johannis-Schule) came across the finish line three seconds later in 22:32. Sophomore Skye Tiller (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury) was the final Knight to finish, which came in 24:38.

FDU will return to action Friday, Nov. 15 at the NCAA Regional Championships in Lehigh, Pa.
