Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 to La Salle

The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's soccer team fell to home-standing La Salle University, 2-0, Friday, Sept. 22 in Philadelphia, PA.

Junior Shelby Reese (Richboro, PA) headed home the game-winner for the Explorers in the 15th minute off a corner kick. La Salle sealed the win in the 89th minute when Reese struck again.

Freshman midfielder Jennifer Arceneaux (/Ralston Valley) (Arvada, CO) registered FDU's only two shots of the night. Senior goalkeeper Kyla Clark (/Notre Dame/Univ. of Texas - El Paso) (Ottawa, Ontario) made 10 four saves in the first-half, with freshman goalie Megan MacKellar (/Brookwood) (Lilburn, GA) stopping six shots in the final 45 minutes.

"We gave up an early goal and never gave ourselves a chance to get back in the game  ? we then gave another one away," Head Coach Renee Montana said. "We have a week to figure things out before conference play."

The Knights (1-6-1) travel to West Long Branch, NJ, Friday, Sept. 29 for their Northeast Conference debut.
