BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Following her first brace of 2026, FDU's Marina Burzaco was named the NEC Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Burzaco has now garnered this honor three times in her career.
The Spanish forward struck not once, but twice, in Sunday's second half at Monmouth. These goals were her first of her career and turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 advantage for the Knights. Burzaco's goals were much needed as FDU grabbed a 2-2 draw.
Burzaco has played all but five possible minutes this season to begin her junior campaign. She now leads the team in shots and goals. She has a total of 14 goals in her career.
Burzaco and the rest of FDU are back in action this Wednesday, September 2, at home against Fairfield. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
