PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The FDU women's soccer (0-2-1, 0-0) team played Penn (0-1-1, 0-0) to scoreless draw at Rhodes Field on Sunday evening. Seven Knights logged 80+ minutes in their first result of the season.
"I felt we expended a lot of energy in the Maryland game, and we struggled to find it today," said head coach
Eric Teepe. "Having said that, I think it was a positive to get a result. We really controlled them defensively.
Goalkeeper
Rosemarie Leblanc made four saves to keep the Quakers off the board. It caps off a 17-save week for the junior as she claimed her first clean sheet of 2026.
The Knights recorded five shots in the 90 minutes with three coming on target. Their best chance came in the 60' when
Elena Cvetkovic's header off a set piece found the woodwork.
Ana Salas and
Candela Espana each put shots on target in the final 30 minutes, but the Penn keeper was able to fend off these attempts.
One positive for FDU was the return of 2025 NEC Midfielder of the Year
Laura Martinez. The senior logged 45 minutes in her season debut.
FDU's home opener is set for this Thursday, August 27, against Stony Brook. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff at Macron Stadium.
