STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - FDU junior
Darien Cade threw a new personal best distance to be crowned as the Men's Weight Throw Champion as FDU competed in the METS Championships on Friday afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Cade highlighted the team effort put forward by the Knights, as he threw a new personal best distance of 16.16 meters to win the METS Championships in the Men's Weight Throw event.
Cade was not the only Knight to notch a new personal record on Friday afternoon, as two other Knights grabbed PR's in the Weight Throw event as well.
Jayson Ross and
Brianna Ortiz both achieved new personal bests in the event, as Ross placed 15th and Ortiz took 19th.
Three more Knights recorded new personal best times in the Men's Mile race, as the distance crew of
Trevor Ehrlicher (5th),
Sam Szczepanski (7th), and
Will Snoots (21st) all grabbed new personal best times, and FDU came away with six points in the event.
The 400 meter dash also saw three Knights get new personal records as
Bikramjit Singh,
Trudale Scott, and
Kailey Seawright all got new personal records to help the Knights in the effort at Ocean Breeze friday afternoon.
The Knights will next compete at at the FastTrack National Invite, as FDU will make the trip back to Ocean Breeze next weekend, with the competition starting at noon on Febuary 6th.
