BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU sophomore
Ethan Ruffin was named the NEC's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this indoor season, as announced in a conference release Tuesday afternoon.
Ruffin is coming off of a meet where he broke the facility record at Gillis Fieldhouse at the West Point Invitational, by jumping a height of 2.15 meters to set a new personal record and win the Men's High Jump event last Saturday. Ruffin's mark is tied for the seventh best in the country, and the best in the NEC this indoor season.
Five other members of the FDU squad were named to the NEC's Prime Performer list in the same conference release. Those Knights are listed below.
Tele Abe, Sprints and Hurdles: Abe was named to the list after clocking a new personal best time in the 60 meter hurdles, as he ran a time of 8.44 seconds to place himself as the sixth best time in the conference this season.
Joshua Gresham, Sprints: Gresham ran a season best time of 49.85 seconds in the 400 meter dash at the West Point Invitational, and that time stands as the second best time throughout the conference in this indoor season.
Courtney Adams, Distance: Adams is tabbed with her first Prime Performer nod of her collegiate career after running a 1:20.93 in the 500 meter run, coming .12 away from her personal record. Adams' time stands as the second best in the conference this indoor season.
Tata Coulibaly, Multi: Coulibaly finds herself in the NEC awards once again after another well rounded performance at the West Point Invitational where she took second place in the Women's Weight Throw event only behind her teammate
Laila Davis, and then winning the Women's 60 meter hurdles, completing an FDU sweep atop the leaderboard in the event.
Laila Davis, Throws: Davis is another Knight that finds herself in the NEC weekly awards, as she threw a new personal best distance of 16.52 meters in the Weight Throw to take first place in the event and the conference as a whole.
