STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – FDU men's and women's track and field competed at the 2024-25 NEC Indoor Championships on Sunday, February 16, and Monday, February 17. Both the men and women placed sixth out of eight teams in the meet.
Individually, the Knights had a solid weekend, earning seven medals.
- Nilaja Wiltshire won the NEC Championship in the women's shot put, placing first with a distance of 14.61m. Wiltshire also took home the silver medal in the women's weight throw, placing second with a distance of 16.61m.
- Freshman Ethan Ruffin won the NEC Championship in the men's high jump. Ruffin placed first by jumping a height of 2.02m.
- Tata Coulibaly placed second in the women's 60mH, winning the silver medal. She finished with a time of 8.72.
- Amiyah Williams placed third in the women's triple jump to win the bronze medal. Williams jumped a distance of 11.29m.
- Jayden Ekoko won the bronze medal in the men's triple jump. Ekoko jumped a distance of 14.25m.
- Chase Lopez earned the bronze medal in the men's 800m. Lopez placed third with a time of 1:54.68.
- With her dominant performance in both the shot put and weight throw, Wiltshire was also named the NEC Thrower of the Meet.
The Knights will continue to compete later in the month of February, when they head to the Fasttrack Last Chance Invitational on February 28.
