BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Eight members of the FDU Track and Field team were honored in the NEC Indoor Track and Field All Conference release, that was announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Ethan Ruffin (High Jump),
Xavier Hayletts (60 meter dash), and
Tata Coulibaly (Weight Throw) all got tabbed with first team honors for FDU.
Ruffin and Hayletts were the two FDU men that garnered first team honors, after Ruffin recorded a record-breaking performance in the Men's High Jump at the NEC Indoor Championships, breaking a record that had stood for over 15 years, with a jump of 2.15 meters, tieing his personal best and winning the NEC Indoor Title all at one. Hayletts earned the title of "The Fastest Man in the NEC" after taking home the Men's 60 meter title at the Indoor Championships back in Feburay, running a blazing time of 6.87 seconds to win the crown.
Chase Lopez was given the nod to the Men's Second Team, after taking second in the Men's Mile event at the Indoor Championships with nearly a four second personal record time. Lopez flew around the track and came just fractions of a second away from winning the Men's Mile Crown at Ocean Breeze. Lopez adds another honor to his name after grabbing All-NEC honors in Cross Country, as Lopez has had quite the season for FDU in 2025-26.
Tata Coulibaly is one of the three Knights that was named an All-NEC First Teamer, after her performance in the Women's Weight Throw event. The performance was not only dominant, but very timely as well, as Coulibaly gave the Knights a big ten points at the Indoor Championships when they needed it, even moving the burgundy and blue into first place at the event for some time.
Also scoring big time points in the Women's Weight Throw was graduate
Laila Davis. Davis took second in the event, giving herself All-NEC second team honors as well, as she has made an instant impact for FDU in her graduate transfer season.
Nya Blades was another Knight that was tabbed as a second teamer, as she grabbed the silver in a highly compettive Women's 60 meter hurdles event at the NEC Indoor Championships. Blades clocked a time of 8.74 seconds to take the silver, and get herself second team all confernce for the indoor season.
Two FDU women also grabbed the honor of being on the NEC All-Rookie Team in the conference's release, as
Emmanuella Koroma (400 meters) and Courtney Adams (500 meters) have showed promise and potential all year for the Knights, and they will look to continue to build on that momentum in the outdoor season.
The outdoor track and field season continues to roll on for FDU, as the Knights will head to the METS Championships this Saturday, April 3rd. Action from Ichan Stadium is set to start at 9 a.m.
