BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - FDU sophomore
Ethan Ruffin was once again named the NEC's Field Athlete of the Week after winning the Men's Field Events MVP at the METS Championships.
This award comes to Ruffin after a jump of 2.10 meters, which won the Men's High Jump event at the METS Championship, and earned him the Men's Field Event MVP. This is the second Men's Field Athlete of the Week in the outdoor season for Ruffin, which couples the plethora of honors that he got in the indoor season.
Two other Knights on the men's team received a Prime Performer nod from the conference, as
Darien Cade and
Xavier Hayletts grabbed those honors in the weekly release. Hayletts clocked a time fo 10.61 meters to win the Men's 100 meter dash at the METS Championships. Cade is coming off of a performance that was a new personal best in the Men's Discus Event, as he won the METS title by throwing a mark of 47.62 meters to take the crown.
The dynamic duo on the women's team of
Tata Coulibaly and
Laila Davis were both named Prime Performers in the weekly release, as Davis is coming off of a METS title of her own, winning the Women's Hammer Throw event with a throw of 47.83 meters to win the crown, and ten points for FDU. Coulibaly shined the brightest in the 100 meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 14.05 seconds, scoring an additional ten points for FDU.
All of these Knights will be back in action at the Rutgers Relays this weekend in New Brunswick. Action from the track is set to start at 9 a.m.
