BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – FDU needed just a point to secure the #1 seed in the NEC Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday, but junior
Ana Salas ensured the Knights took all three. Salas scored twice in a 2–0 win over Howard at University Stadium, earning her second NEC Co-Player of the Week honor of the season.
Salas struck in both halves on Sunday's tilt with the Bison. The first gave the Knights the lead early in the first stanza off a pass from
Maria Barrero. The second goal, which served as the dagger, was delivered in the 63
rd minute off a pass from
Marina Burzaco.
It marked her first brace of the season.
Thanks to this performance, Salas' finished the regular season slate with five goals, six assists and 16 points. She ranks in the top ten in the NEC in both assists and points. She is one of five Knights to finish with double-digit point totals.
The Knights will take on #4 Central Connecticut in the NEC Semifinal on Thursday, November 6, at 4 p.m. in Teaneck. Fans can catch the action on NEC Front Row.
