HACKENSACK, N.J. – The 2025 NEC Midfielder of the Year is adding another accolade to her resume. FDU's
Laura Martinez was named to the United Soccer Coaches Women's All-North Region Third Team. This is the second time in her career she has earned All-Region honors.
Martinez started every game for a Knights squad that won a program record nine NEC matches. Her presence in the midfield was crucial in FDU winning the conference's regular season title. A controller of play on both sides of the field, Martinez delivered three goals and one assist, while helping the defense hold NEC opponents to .75 goals per game.
This honor is just the latest for FDU's accomplished junior. In her career, Martinez has earned two First Team All-NEC selections, an All-Rookie nod as a freshman, a spot on the United Soccer Coaches Division I Players to Watch List, and now her second All-Region honor.
A model of consistency, Martinez has started and played in all 58 matches since her freshman season. She will be on pace to break the FDU games played record in her senior season.
