HACKENSACK, N.J. – Sophomore
Laura Martinez was named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-North Region Fourth Team. The midfielder played a crucial role in FDU's run to the 2024 NEC Conference Championship final.
If there was any doubt about it after her rookie season,
Martinez proved herself as one of the premier midfielders in the NEC in 2024. In November, she was named first team all-conference. The Spanish midfielder started all 18 matches for FDU and led the Knights in minutes outside of goalkeeper Rosemarie LeBlanc. Martinez brought steadiness and craftiness to the Burgundy and Blue all season long. She connected for two beautiful long-range goals and two assists for a total of six points.
