PRINCESS ANNE, MD. – FDU's 2024 campaign started off hot on Saturday with a second place finish in the UMES Season Opener. The Knights ran an extremely young team, with four of their six runners being freshmen, highlighting the exciting youth on this 2024 roster.
The Knights were led by freshman
Isabel Michel, who finished in fifth and posted a time of 13:09.09 in her collegiate debut. Michel was joined in the top ten by another of her freshman classmates in
Gabriela Cardona. Cardona finished tenth with an official time of 14:13.22.
The Knights also saw strong performances from freshmen
Amiaya Richardson and
Briana Reyes who placed in the top 20. Richardson posted a time of 15:29.40, and Reyes finished with a time of 15:42.95.
The promising young team will look to keep momentum high as they look towards their next meet on September 13, where they will head to Jersey City to face off against Saint Peter's.
