SYRACUSE, N.Y. – FDU (1-10, 1-4) fell by a score of 18-8 on Wednesday at the hands of Le Moyne (5-4, 4-0). The matchup in Syracuse was the first time these programs have ever met.
Brielle McInaw provided a bright spot in the loss for FDU. She tallied three goals for her second-consecutive hat-trick and extended her goal streak to seven. She now leads the team with 17 marks on the season.
Jordan Santana extended her goal streak to eleven games with a strike that brought her 2024 goal total to 12.
Despite seeing those streaks continue, Le Moyne celebrated much more often at Ted Grant Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Dolphins scored three of the first four goals and then ripped off seven straight to extend their lead to 10-2. By the end of the first half, their lead had swelled to 12-3.
Turnovers were a key difference between these two sides. The Knights coughed it up 19 times, while the Dolphins only committed 11 turnovers. 10 of FDU's turnovers were uncaused.
Nora Codianni did her best to play the role of disruptor, causing three Le Moyne turnovers singlehandedly.
Le Moyne held slight edges in draw controls (15-14), shots (32-25), and shots on goal (23-17).
