TEANECK, N.J. – FDU women's lacrosse (10-7, 6-3) defeated Wagner (6-9, 6-3) by a score of 11-6 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Knights clinch their spot in the 2026 NEC Championships. It is the first postseason berth in the Knights' four-year program history.
FDU set the tone early, as
Brielle McInaw and
Mia Devino opened the scoring for the Knights. FDU held a 2-0 lead through most of a very physical first period. Wagner would scrape one goal back with 53 seconds remaining in the first period.
On a rainy, cold afternoon in Teaneck, the Knights poured on the goals in the second period. FDU scored five unanswered to close the first half and take a 7-1 lead into the halftime break.
Karly Dillabough scored two of the Knights' five goals in the period to help engineer the offense.
FDU and Wagner each scored once in the third quarter, with Maeve Chamberlain notching the goal for the Knights. In the fourth quarter, FDU turned the offense on again, score three quick goals to put the final touches on the game.
Karly Dillabough scored two more goals in the fourth, giving herself four goals on the afternoon. Dillabough finishes the regular season with 35 goals scored, setting a new FDU single-season record.
Brielle McInaw also scored in the fourth quarter to record a hat trick.
Wagner would score four unanswered across the final six minutes, but it was too little, too late for the Seahawks.
