BRIDGEWATER, N.J.- This week in NEC play Ana Salas had two outstanding performances which earned her NEC Rookie of the Week honors. This well-deserved recognition comes as a testament to Salas's exceptional talent and dedication to the game.

In a thrilling week of NEC play Salas showcased her prowess on the field with two exceptional performances. Her impressive performances not only earned her the Rookie of the Week honor but also marked the first weekly honor of the season for this Knights squad. 

One defining moment came during the face-off against Sacred Heart on Thursday, September 20th. In a highly competitive match Salas emerged as the game-changer with a pivotal play in the 49th minute. Displaying incredible skill and determination the freshman embarked on a run from midfield, only to be fouled right outside the box. Unfazed by the challenge Salas took charge of the ensuing free-kick, executing it with elegance and precision slotting the ball into the bottom left corner. This goal provided the Knights with a well-deserved 1-0 lead and ultimately secured their first victory of the season.

Salas continued her exceptional form in the match against CCSU on Sunday, September 24th. Her presence on the wing posed a constant threat to the opposition, and her contributions did not go unnoticed. In the 68th minute, Salas played a crucial role in breaking the deadlock. Kiomy Luperon's tenacity led to her stealing the ball from the opposing goalkeeper and firing a shot from a challenging angle. The ball found its way to Salas, who with composure and finesse, calmly tapped it into the open net tallying her third goal of the season.

With these stellar performances, Ana Salas rightfully claims the title of NEC Rookie of the Week. As the Knights continue their season, Salas is poised to maintain her exceptional form. Fans can catch the Knights in action on September 28th at 7 PM as the Knights face Stonehill at home.
