Reigning NEC Champs Announce 2023 Women's Soccer Schedule

FDU kicks off the 24th season in program history on August 17 at St. John's

TEANECK, N.J. - Coming off the second Northeast Conference title win in program history, FDU women's soccer embarks on the 24th season in program in 2023 with the side's schedule released Wednesday afternoon. The Knights begin the campaign on August 17 in a 7:30 p.m. tilt at St. John's, the first meeting between the Knights and Red Storm since 2015.

"Knowing the challenge ahead of us we really tried to push our team out-of-conference to prepare for NEC play," commented head coach Eric Teepe, entering his 10th season at FDU. "Playing such perennial NCAA tournament teams like St. John's, Hofstra, Rutgers and Monmouth just to name a few will do exactly that. We know our NEC start is right against a top team and we expect every game throughout the conference to push us to our limits."

FDU will play at home in three of the Knights' first five home fixtures, welcoming Monmouth in the home opener on August 20 and Vermont on August 24. The Burgundy and Blue will face in-state foe Rutgers on the road on August 28 - the second match against the Scarlet Knights in three seasons.

Non-conference play is rounded-out with matches against NJIT, Columbia and Duquesne before Teepe's side enters NEC action on September 21 at Sacred Heart. The two-time NEC champions continue the back stretch of the season with contests at home against Center Connecticut (Sep. 24), Stonehill (Sep. 28) and Saint Francis U (Oct. 1) before traveling to LIU (Oct. 8).

The final four games of the regular season will be split between two at University Stadium and two on the road with FDU welcoming Howard (Oct. 12) and Delaware State (Oct. 26) and traveling to Wagner (Oct. 19) and the newest member of the NEC, Le Moyne (Oct. 22). FDU's match against Merrimack will be played in North Andover, Mass. and is currently to be determined.

Looking for a third star above the crest, the NEC tournament is scheduled to begin with the opening round on October 29.

In all, FDU will take part in 18 regular season contests with seven coming on the banks of the Hackensack at the Knights' home of University Stadium. All home games will be streamed live on NEC Front Row and the NEC on the Run app.

Schedule subject to change. All times Eastern unless otherwise noted.
