Katia Cardaba Shines as Rookie & Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - The intensity of the NEC playoff race reached a fever pitch as the regular season neared its end, and it was Katia Càrdaba who emerged as the game-changer for the Knights. Her exceptional performances against Wagner and Le Moyne not only earned her the Rookie of The Week title but also secured her the Player of The Week accolade.

In the thrilling clash against Wagner Càrdaba proved to be the defining factor, netting both goals for the Knights. Her first strike showcased her exceptional skill as she unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box which after a slight deflection off a defender, found the back of the net. The second goal was a moment of sheer brilliance, where she skillfully nutmegged the defender before calmly slotting it past the keeper with two defenders closing in on her. The final scoreline of 2-1 in favor of the Knights was a testament to Càrdaba's match-winning abilities.

The Le Moyne encounter witnessed yet another stellar display from Càrdaba. In this match she found the back of the net again, courtesy of a pinpoint corner kick delivered by Naemi Hausen. Càrdaba showcased her aerial prowess with a powerful header, placing the ball perfectly into the net from the front post. This goal not only highlighted her scoring ability but also secured the crucial lead for the team, emphasizing her importance on the field.

Càrdaba's outstanding week saw her tally an impressive three goals in just two matches, demonstrating her exceptional form and unwavering determination. Without her moments of brilliance, the Knights could have found themselves in a different position as they approached the NEC tournament. Her contributions not only propelled the team to victory but also solidified her status as a key player in the NEC playoff race.

As the regular season draws to a close, Katia Càrdaba's remarkable performances have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the Knights' standings. Her ability to shine under pressure and deliver game-changing moments has not only earned her individual recognition but has also elevated the team's confidence as they prepare for the challenges that lie ahead in the NEC tournament. With Càrdaba in their ranks, the Knights are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.
