2022 Women's Volleyball Schedule Released

FDU opens the campaign with the Texan Invitational hosted by Tarleton State on August 26

HACKENSACK, N.J. - FDU women's volleyball head coach David Nguyen announced his team's 2022 regular season schedule Tuesday, the 44th season in program history.

"We are eager to welcome this upcoming fall season," commented Nguyen, who enters his first season at the helm of the Burgundy and Blue. "The team will be adding some new faces and new perspective into our culture. We want to welcome Stonehill and their volleyball program into the NEC and look forward to building some great memories with the Skyhawks. Our team will travel to Texas this year, where four of our players are from, providing a special opportunity for our players to go home and play in front of friends and family."

He continued, "The rest of the non-conference schedule will provide great competition while preparing us for conference play. Our fans are in for a treat this year as we look forward to changing things up and getting fans excited about FDU volleyball and our relentless style of play."

Getting things started in the Lone Star State, FDU will participate in the two-day, three-match Texan Invitational hosted by Tarleton State from August 26-27. There FDU will face the host Texans, Northwestern State and ULM. Following the trip to Texas, the Burgundy and Blue will return to the Tri-State Area and head across the George Washington Bridge to Fordham, taking part in the Rose Hill Classic facing the Rams, Niagara and Penn from September 2-3.

The Knights round-out their tournaments with the Fairfield Invitational on September 9-10 where FDU will take on the Stags, Washington State and Howard and the Rutgers Tournament starting with back-to-back Jersey opponents in the Scarlet Knights and Princeton and rounding out with FIU.

Non-conference opponents for FDU aside from the tournaments include NJIT (Sep. 6), Lehigh (Sep. 13), Manhattan (Sep. 20) and Saint Peter's (Sep. 28). Looking to get off to a hot start in Northeast Conference play, FDU opens their league slate of contests with five-straight matches at Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center, welcoming Merrimack (Sep. 23), Stonehill (Sep. 24), Saint Francis U (Pa.) (Oct. 1), Sacred Heart (Oct. 7) and Central Connecticut (Oct. 8) to the banks of the Hackensack.

FDU then hits the road for the first time in conference action taking on St. Francis Brooklyn (Oct. 14), LIU (Oct. 15), Saint Francis U (Pa.) (Oct. 22), Merrimack (Oct. 28) and Stonehill (Oct. 29).

Returning home, FDU hosts St. Francis Brooklyn and LIU on November 4 and 5, respectively and then hits the road one final time in the regular season, traveling to Sacred Heart (Nov. 11) and Central Connecticut (Nov. 12) for the regular season finale.

The 2022 Northeast Conference Championship is slated to be held on November 18-19 at the site of the highest seed.

Fans can catch every home match, as well as select away contests in NEC play, on the Conference's official digital network, NEC Front Row (necfrontrow.com) and the NEC On the Run app, available on the App Store, Google Play, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
