BRIDGEWATER, N.J — FDU women's volleyball wrapped up the conference's weekly awards on Tuesday, November 18, with Isabella Scarfone being named NEC/Molten Rookie of the Week.
The freshman setter led the Knights' offense this past weekend as FDU secured back-to-back sweeps over CCSU. On Friday evening, Scarfone recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 20 assists and 10 digs. Across the two matches, the Scottsdale native tallied 39 assists (6.5 assists/set), 17 digs (2.83 digs/set), three aces, and two kills.
In addition to Scarfone, the Italian duo of Angela Marchetto and Giorgia Vaschetti were named as NEC Prime Performers. Marchetto, a sophomore middle blocker, posted eight blocks (1.33 blocks/set) and hit .444 on the weekend. Outside hitter Vaschetti added 20 kills (3.33 kills/set), nine blocks (1.5 blocks/set), and eight digs while hitting .283.
The Knights open postseason play in the NEC Semi-Finals against Saint Francis on Friday, November 21, at 2 p.m. at LIU's Steinberg Wellness Center.
