STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - FDU Men's Track & Field had some top finishes at the Northeast Conference Indoor Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex that led to a second place finish for the conference meet. Several Knights earned top honors for their performances over the two days. Senior Ben Clay III took home Most Outstanding Field Performer (Throws) and sophomore Salif Mane earned Most Outstanding Field Performer (Jumps).
How it Happened

Mane dominated in the triple jump and long jump competition with a mark of 16.29m for triple jump and 7.50 for long jump. Mane broke the meet record for the triple jump while also recording a new personal best.

Not far behind, Taeco O'Garro had a second-place finish in long jump with a mark of 7.20, and a third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 15.47m.

Clay III had a second place finish in shot put with a mark of 17.27m. This mark comes after he beat his personal best for the weight throw competition with a mark of 17.99. Dominykas Cepys had a third place finish in shot put with a mark of 15.93m.

Malik Ricketts, Sandley Elysee, Conroy Ellis, and Shevan Parks placed second in the 4x400m dash with a time of 3:14.67.

Conroy Ellis, Duran Crooks, and Sandley Elysee placed second, third, and fourth in the 500m with times of 1:03.62, 1:04.49, and 1:04.56, respectively.

Daniel Chambers had a fourth-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 6.98.

The Knights return to competition on March 5th as the team will travel to the BU Track and Tennis Center In Boston, MA. for the ECAC Indoor Championships.
