BRONX, N.Y. - Ben Clay III topped his Shot Put personal record this weekend as the Knights competed at the Rutgers Open at the Armory.
How it Happened

Ben Clay III hit a personal record on his first throw with a mark of 17.69m for a first place finish. He made it past the college rounds and qualified for the championship portion of the meet. With this mark, he beat top Big 10 schools such as Rutgers and Maryland.

Salif Mane recorded a first place finish in the triple jump with a 15.85m mark. Not far behind, Taeco O'Garro had a second place finish with a mark of 15.34m.

Freshman Malik Ricketts finished in second place in the 400m dash with a 49.15 finish.Â

Shevan Parks recorded a 1:53.48 time in the 800m race for a seventh place finish.

With a 6.67m mark, Sean Mefford finished fifth in the men's long jump.
Next Up
The Knights return to competition next Sunday as the team heads to the Northeast Conference Indoor Championships back at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, NY.
