SOMERSET, NJ-  FDU women's volleyball earned two Northeast Conference accolades as announced by the conference on Thursday morning. Head coach David Nguyen was named NEC Women's Volleyball Coach of the Year while graduate student Tatijana Fucka earned a spot on the All-NEC First Team honors list.

Nguyen was named NEC women's volleyball Coach of the Year in his first year as a head coach and first season at FDU. Nguyen, the youngest Division I head coach in women's volleyball, has led the Knights to the most NEC wins in FDU history and the most regular season wins since 2008. Under the leadership of Nguyen this season FDU swept more teams in conference play than any NEC team. Nguyen led the Burgundy and Blue to the NEC tournament for the first time since 2008 as the #3 seed. This season FDU ended their regular season with the highest NEC rank since 1998. 

Fucka, a middle blocker transfer from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, was named all-NEC first team after she ended her first regular season with the Knights having scored 265 points with 2.76 points per set, put down 210 kills this season with 2.19 kills per set and had 89 blocks this season with .93 blocks per set. Fucka is 4th in the conference in hitting percentage (.308); 4th in blocks with 89, and 4th in blocks-per-set with .93. 

The Burgundy and Blue return to action on November 18 at 3 p.m. to face #2 Saint Francis U, in the first round of the 2022 Northeast Conference Championship in Fairfield, CT. at William H. Pitt Center. Watch all the action live on NEC Front Row and ESPN3.
