LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Fairleigh Dickinson women's volleyball team garnered USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award recognition for the eighth time since 2011, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on July 19.
FDU women's volleyball closed out the 2020-21 academic year with a 3.47 GPA following the spring semester "on the Hackensack." Further, of the nine Knights who were named to the Northeast Conference Honor Roll (minimum 3.20 GPA), three were named to the NEC Commissioner's List, an academic distinction reserved for those with a 3.75 GPA and above.
Following the announcement of his team's recognition, second-year head coach
Kevin Rodgers remarked, "This is a great achievement for our student-athletes. Despite a challenging year of primarily online classes, they were able to persist and work through the hardships of not interacting face-to-face with their peers and instructors. I couldn't be more proud."
