Robbins, from Cambridge, Ontario, started all eight games as a junior in the midfield and controlled play for the Knights offense. The junior is known as one of the premier midfielders in the NEC on the defensive side of the pitch. She finished second on the Knights with three goals and seven points. The junior netted a critical game-winner in the 40th minute as FDU beat Sacred Heart 1-0 early in the NEC season. Robbins also netted goals in victories against Wagner and Bryant. In the Bryant win, she also dished out her lone assist of the season to teammate
Alyssa Caggiano.
"I think it is great satisfaction to see Maddie garner this award," said head coach
Eric Teepe. She was unquestionably our most consistent and dynamic player all year. Not only is this well-deserved, I expect to see her achieve even more in the fall season. Her best play is still ahead of her!!"
FDU finished the 2021 campaign with a 5-3 overall record and went 5-2 in the NEC. Robbins is one of seven juniors that will be returning for their senior season next year.
