NEC Preseason Poll
FDU was selected to finish second in the NEC Preseason Poll after a 2019 season in which the Burgundy and Blue reached the NEC Championship Game, which marked the Knights seventh consecutive NEC Tournament appearance.

Scouting the Blue Devils

Scouting the Knights

FDU (3-2-0, 3-1-0 NEC) opened NEC play with three straight victories before falling 2-1 in double overtime to Merrimack. The Knights have beaten Sacred Heart, Wagner, and St. Francis Brooklyn in conference play. The Knights are currently tied for first place in the NEC. In the most recent victory over St. Francis Brooklyn, sophomore Naemi Hausen netted a hat trick in the first half to help guide the Knights to a 4-2 victory. Hausen now leads the NEC in points with 10 and goals with four. Hausen was also named NEC Player of the Week on March 22. Junior midfielder Isabelle Udovc was also named NEC Player of the Week on March 15 after scoring a goal and recording two assists against Wagner. FDU senior netminder Cassandra Marcoux was selected as the NEC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on March 8 after an 11 save performance against Sacred Heart. Last year against CCSU, FDU went 1-1, with a 1-0 win in double overtime in the regular season and a 1-0 loss in the NEC Championship. Senior Viktorija Miseljic netted the game-winner in overtime last year to win it for FDU.

Coach Teepe's Thoughts

"We just seemed to be struggling today and are dealing with a lot of little nicks that I think we let it seep into our preparedness for this game," said head coach Eric Teepe. "We just didn't play a mentally strong game and we caught a break being up 1-0, but we never really took command of the game and felt we were chasing the whole time."

"As a team, we had good moments and bad moments. I don't really think we did anything that would put us in a position to win the game today and we gave them an opportunity and they took it. I felt that overtime was our best part of the game and the part of the game where we were effective, but we left too much space on that goal."

"I felt our defense did a good job and they really had to battle today. We have to let this one sync in and get over it and let ourselves recover."
